Taking Back Tuesday
Simon missed a bin collection.
Transcript
We missed a collection in February. I don't think people realise what that does to a family. How many had you missed? One. You want to catch these things early.
Like any great business, we focus on doing one thing exceptionally well. The bins? We don't even do recycling yet. I'd never written code. With Code Overlord, I had lorry detection working by lunchtime.
One minion tracks the vehicle. Another sends the alert. The grunts write the code. We now have eleven cameras, thermal imaging and a dedicated server in the garage.
For one bin? At this stage. It worked beautifully. Four collections. Then I added two-way audio. Just six inches to the left, please. You're outside the collection zone.
You what? That's when Dave became aware of the platform. [BLEEP] [BLEEP] off, camera [BLEEP]! [CONTINUOUS BLEEP] They tried written abuse. Bin [BLEEP].
It read that correctly. So I asked Code Overlord for an incident-monitoring minion. It now sends me everything that needs reviewing. How much is there?
Quite a lot of Dave. What's this cost you? Fourteen thousand pounds. Review this! The software's been excellent. The binmen are another matter.
I'm suing the [BLEEP].
