Dictate and turn notes into work

Speak an instruction on your phone, review it and send it to your coding agent. Continue by voice at your desk, with the result in the same shared notepad.

Before you start

Pair the companion app with your desktop workspace and open an agent there. Allow microphone access and let the speech model finish its first download on each device. Enable Sync notepad across devices in Account & Sync for the shared list.

Start from your phone

  1. Select the workspace, open Minions and choose the agent you want to receive the instruction.

  2. Tap the microphone beside the message field and speak:

    In the shared notepad, add Launch checks with two tasks: check downloads and review captions.

  3. Stop recording and wait for the editable transcript.

  4. Review the words and correct any names or task titles. In the video, “caption” is corrected to “captions.”

  5. Press Send. Watch the instruction reach that agent inside Code Overlord on the desktop.

  6. Check Thy Quill, the shared notepad, on both devices. “Launch Checks” should have the two tasks beneath it.

Continue at your desk

  1. Focus the agent terminal or Thy Quill note field where the words should appear.

  2. Click the floating microphone, or press Ctrl+Alt+M on Linux/Windows or Cmd+Option+M on macOS.

  3. For this workflow, dictate into the same agent's terminal:

    In the shared notepad, mark check downloads complete. Leave review captions open.

  4. Use the microphone control to stop. Review the transcript in the terminal before submitting it.

  5. Let the agent make the change. Desktop dictation inserts text; it does not automatically submit it.

If no editable field is focused, look in recent dictations instead of assuming the transcript was sent.

Check the result

Confirm that Check downloads is complete and Review captions remains open, both on the desktop and on the phone. The agent should have changed the intended shared list. Naming the note and task helps avoid changes to an unrelated backlog.

Notes syncing successfully does not mean that all project files have synced between computers.
